High Availability
High availability refers
to information systems where services are always accessible, even in
the case of dysfunction within some or all of its components. In a
world where natural and man made disasters occur everyday, this has
become a necessity, not a luxury. High availability can be
viewed as insurance against work stoppage in the event of breakdown
or failure, which in most cases would be synonymous with
financial losses. It is also potentially a
source of new opportunities as it allows a firm to achieve better
delivery and quality of service. In the financial sector for example,
the demand for around the clock service has increased dramatically. The expertise of Orinux
