Project Leadership

The acquisition of a new information system involves many technical and procedural changes.

The technologies used are generally new, the time frame for carrying out the process short, the challenges and external players (software, suppliers of materials) numerous.

All these factors can result in the decision maker and the technicians relying systematically on the opinion of the most politically active individual ― who is not necessarily the most technically qualified. The different providers may have opposing aims, resulting in a solution that is incomplete, unsuitable or incoherent.

Some of the most common problems are:

  • the absence of global planning to consolidate the actions of the different parties as a whole. Therefore operations cannot be optimized due to the duplication of efforts and the lack of respect for dependencies
  • technical success criterias are poorly defined (if defined at all) and therefore the “success” of the project can be misleading
  • roles and responsibilities are not clearly defined, leading to a “hide and seek” situation where the concerned party claims not to be informed about the actions of another
  • the lack of definition in the responsibilities of the relevant parties allow them to avoid accountability in cases of dysfunction or project failure
  • the process of installation is neither detailed nor validated, making it impossible to respect rules of best practice, let alone measure standards of quality

As a Trusted Advisor, Orinux is well qualified to manage the technical integration of all projects. In addition to project management, the experience and expertise which we bring allows our clients to improve the overall quality of their project. • defining and verifying best practice rules for the physical installation of the hardware
  • coordinating the actions of different players to ensure that progress is timely and in accordance with predefined objectives
  • organizing comprehensive tests from the beginning of the project to the end, and defining plans of correction
